The Pleasant Hills West community sits between two other popular El Paso neighborhoods, Apollo Heights West and Pleasant Hills West. With Highway 54 to its north and Salem Drive to its west, community residents enjoy quick access to downtown El Paso; the city is only a 15-minute drive away.
Depending on their location, residents can send their children to Bradley Elementary School or Baron Elementary School. Charles Middle School and Andress High School are also available for older children. For those seeking outdoor recreation, Veterans Park is only a 10-minute drive southeast. The park features a recreation center with tennis courts, an indoor swimming pool, and basketball courts. Hiking trails are also available, as well as a skateboarding park. Animal and wildlife lovers will enjoy visiting the El Paso Zoo. The 18-acre zoo houses over 200 species of animals; the zoos natural habitat exhibits include the Reptile House, Elephant Complex, Asian Endangered Walk, and Birds of Prey.
