Residents of the Normandy Park neighborhood of El Paso don’t have to drive very far to reach the airport when they plan to travel or pick up visitors who are flying into the city. Montana Avenue, which leads right into Airway Boulevard, passes through the center of the neighborhood. An additional bonus is the fact that this street is a major thoroughfare connecting to Highways 54 and 180.
High schools students can attend Burges High School, which is not too far away from Normandy Park. This school has its own baseball team that competes with the teams from other schools in the city on the baseball field adjacent to the school. Basketball is the featured sport at San Juan Park, but residents of the neighborhood can also take part in streetball games.
Since the University of Texas at El Paso is close to the neighborhood, students who live there can remain at home while they pursue post-secondary studies. This is also a good area for college students to look for rental properties. This educational institution also has its own sports teams, and residents of Normandy Park often attend the various games and other forms of entertainment that the university offers.
Normandy Park is located quite close to Fort Bliss, a U.S. Army base. Those who work on the post are able to live off base and get a break from the military environment. The proximity of the freeways and highways also means that residents can easily reach any point of the city for shopping or for medical services.
