Five miles north of Fort Bliss and the El Paso International Airport is Irvin, a neighborhood located in northeast El Paso, Texas. The borders of this community include the neighborhood Tobin Park to the south, Eisenhower’s Sahara neighborhood to the north, Highway 54 to the west, and Biggs Air Field to the east.
The subdivision is made-up of a mix of mom-and-pop businesses and big-name retailers, such as Kmart. There are also several shopping centers; the closest is Northpark Mall, which is less than a mile from the subdivision. Residents of Irvin also can reach Bassett Place Mall and the Cielo Vista Mall easily, both of which include many top retailers.
Families will enjoy spending time in the numerous parks around Irvin. Student Memorial Park is at the center of the community, but also Recreation Ranch Park is located to the north of the neighborhood and Sue Young Park is about a mile to the west. Dolphin and Skyline Optimist Youth Park are within walking distance of the Irvin area.
Public school students in the Irvin neighborhood do not have to travel far to get to school. Crosby Elementary is less than a half-mile from the subdivision, and the trek to Parkland Middle School is about a mile. Irvin High is even less of a commute, sitting only a quarter-mile from the center of Irvin. Also, El Paso Community College is located conveniently only two miles west.
