In the northwest portion of El Paso, you will find a neighborhood comprised of mostly single-family homes called Falcon Hills. It is part of the 79912 zip code and has among its local neighborhoods Delgado Park to the north, Polk to the south, Chaparral to the east, and Lakehurst to the west.
Falcon Hills has a bit of everything. Sightseeing can be done in two ways. Take the Wyler Aerial Tramway to the top of Mount Franklin for breathtaking views, or join a tour offered by either Native Trails Tour or Around & About Tours.
Seven miles down the road from Falcon Hills is the popular El Paso Zoo. Parks are also plentiful in this part of town, and among them are Lyndon Baines Johnson Park, Irwin J. Lambka Park, and Franklin Mountain State Park. Golfing is also something you can easily find around the Falcon Hills community. Coronado Country Club offers an 18-hole course, as does El Paso Country Club, Doniphan Country Club, and the New Mexico State University golf course is also accessible. There is always outdoor activity available.
Schooling avails residents of a number of options. Beyond private schools, there are public choices, with four elementary schools, three middle schools, and two high schools to choose from. On the high school level, Coronado High and Franklin High are near the area. Middle school will usually fall into Dr. Hornedo, DaVinci, or Brown middle schools. Lastly, four elementary schools, including Burham Woods Charter, Rosa Guerrero, Polk, or Davinci serve the area. There are several community colleges in the surrounding area, too.
Other attractions around Falcon Hills include the Cinemark West movie theatre, the Desert Moon Academy, and the Westside Community Park Recreation Center. Malls for shopping are just to the south and include Crossroads Village Shopping Center, Airway Junction Shopping Center, and Coronado Shopping Center.
