Nestled just east of the Franklin Mountains State Park is the neighborhood of Devil’s Tower. This location, comprised of mostly single-family homes, is in the northeast portion of El Paso and is near the adjoining neighborhoods of Mountain Hills to the north and Mountain Ridge to the south.
Devil’s Tower is well situated when it comes to public school options. Within its confines there are three elementary schools to choose from, including Park, Logan, and Burnet. Two middle schools dot the landscape, those being Canyon Hills and Magoffin, and high schools are Chapin, Transmountain Early College High School, Irvin, and Austin. There are also two local community colleges, as well as Webster College and Roger Bacon College nearby.
Outdoor activities abound in and around Devil’s Tower. There are parks such as Sunrise, Dyer/Edgar, and Mountain View, to name a few that are close by. Franklin Mountain State Park is also near and gives residents the opportunity to sight-see from 7,000 feet up on the Wyler Aerial Tramway. The Park provides walking trails, as well, for the exercise and nature lover.
If you’re looking for other outdoor activities, golf is available at any of three local courses, such as Coronado Country Club, Butterfield Trail Golf Club, or the Lone Star Golf Club. Racing fans enjoy the Sunland Park Race Track & Casino, which is located to the southwest of the Devil’s Tower area. Inside fun can be found at Bowlero Lanes or at the Nations-Tobins Sport Center to the east of the neighborhood. Several museums are around, as well, including the National Border Patrol Museum and the El Paso Museum of History.
Don’t forget shopping, which can be found at North Park Mall, Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss, or Coronado Mall. If travel is required, El Paso International Airport is nearby.
