Pecan Grove Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Pecan Grove neighborhood of El Paso is tucked into the northwest corner of the intersection of Interstate 10 and Highway 375. An industrial zone on the eastern edge provides a barrier between the neighborhood and Interstate 10. The neighborhood is mostly residential with gently-curved streets and cul-de-sacs. Nearly all of the neighborhood streets are lined with sidewalks, which makes it easy to navigate on foot or by bicycle. Public transportation is available on Betel Drive.
Significant landmarks in the neighborhood include the Mission Valley Regional Command Center, a community police station that the El Paso Police Department opened in 1998, as well as several churches, schools, and parks.
St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church is a religious and social anchor for Pecan Grove residents. The church hosts community events year-round, including an annual Easter egg hunt and a Blessing of the Animals ceremony in October. Other churches include Corpus Christi Catholic Community, Iglesia Bautista Nueva, and Iglesia Puerto del Cielo. Area schools include Le Barron Park Elementary School, Harmony Science Academy, Del Valle High School, and Lancaster Elementary School.
Residents enjoy recreational facilities at Zaragosa Park and Blackie Chesher Regional Park. Zaragosa Park offers plenty of green space and shade, while Blackie Chesher Park is a fully-developed facility covering 33 acres with five baseball and softball fields.
In addition to these neighborhood features, several casual dining restaurants are located on the southwest edge of the neighborhood at the intersection of Zaragosa Road and Farm-to-Market Road 76. Diners can choose from fried chicken, fried fish, hamburgers, pizza, among other options.
