Homes in this section of the city are widely varied. Some are simply single-family residences. There are also elegant and upscale townhouses in the area. The townhouses have some sort of outside space, but the homes have considerably more space.
This part of the city has a smaller range of restaurants, including several fast-food and pizza places, a Tex-Mex place, several Mexican restaurants, Asian restaurants that include Vietnamese and Chinese foods, and of course there are places that offer sweets.
Some of the city’s significant historical landmarks are located in this section of the town. The A.W. Perry Homestead at 1509 North Perry Road was the third home that was built by DeWitt C. Perry, the son of one of the city’s founders A.W. Perry. It is said that the younger Perry completed the present home in 1909, and that he did so by using wood and materials that were salvaged from the second home the family had built on the very site around 1857.
Another important landmark is the DeWitt Perry School at 1709 Belt Line Road. DeWitt Clinton Perry and his sister Harriet Perry Warner gave the city of Carrollton the land on which the city’s first public school was built. The two story building that housed the school was occupied by students and faculty for the first time on January 19, 1916.
