East Arlington is located within the city of Arlington, Texas, in the 76010 zip code area of Tarrant County. Fort Worth lies 12 miles to the west and downtown Dallas lies roughly 20 miles to the east. Grand Prairie lies just to the east of this part of Arlington.
This area is a mix of multi-family homes – mostly apartment complexes and duplexes. Some one and two story, single family homes can be found in the area as well. The neighborhood’s close proximity to the University of Texas at Arlington explains the significant number apartments and duplexes.
One significant attraction in nearby Grand Prairie is the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not and Wax Museum. There are plenty of places for shopping in the area. For instance, the outdoor Lincoln Square mall is located right near Six Flags Over Texas, The Ballpark in Arlington, and Cowboys Stadium. The mall offers everything from Gap, Stein Mart, and Bed Bath and Beyond to restaurants that offer fondue, Italian, Asian, deli, and traditional bar and grill selections.
Arlington Highlands is another mall in the vicinity, and it offers loads of different types of shopping and dining opportunities. The Parks at Arlington offers big stores like JC Penney, Dillards, Sears, and Barnes & Noble. An AMC movie theater can be found at the mall as well.
The Arlington area offers several beautiful golf courses. Tierra Verde Golf Club has earned the distinction of being the first golf course in both Texas and the world to be certified as an Audubon Signature Sanctuary.
Other spectacular courses in Arlington include the Lake Arlington Course, designed by Ralph Plummer. This traditional 18 hole course is spread out over 185 acres. Arlington’s oldest golf course is located a mile east of downtown in Meadowbrook Park. The course dates back to 1924.
