Downtown Grand Prairie is a neighborhood in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. The city of Grand Prairie lies 13 miles west of downtown Dallas, with Downtown Grand Prairie located along the area of Main Street. It is a low key neighborhood, with a variety of small businesses throughout its entirety.
The Brass Bean Café offers a place of respite for coffee and café lovers. A unique outdoor seating area, located in a narrow passageway between the café and the neighboring building, presents a bistro-like atmosphere. A large outdoor mural on one wall adds to its appeal, giving it an open and airy effect. The large selection of coffees here gives repeat customers a variety, and gives visitors a veritable banquet of choices. Breakfast and lunch are also served. A number of local cafes and restaurants are found in Downtown Grand Prairie, for more of a small-town ambiance.
Antique shoppers search for their delights in Downtown Grand Prairie, too, with a selection of antique shops to peruse. Martial Arts & Kardio-Kickbox offers those with an interest in martial arts or in fitness a place for this. The Municipal Courts of Grand Prairie reside at the corner of West Main Street and Collins Street.
West Main Street is also home to Market Square. This half acre park provides a venue for the local Farmer’s Market. This runs on certain days of the week, from February into December. The facilities are available to rent for private events and gatherings, such as birthday parties or family reunions at other times.
