Broadmoor Hills is a neighborhood that is located near Las Colinas, but not within it. It is due east of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The eastern boundary of the neighborhood is State Highway 161 and Interstate 635. The western boundary is Valley View Lane. To the north is Carbon Road and the southern boundary is Doris Road and Innsbruck Drive South.
Homes in the neighborhood are primarily one-story, single family homes that were built in the late 1970s and into the early 1980s. They are very large traditional style homes that exceed 2,000 square feet and are ideal for growing families.
There are two recreation centers, Houston and Northwest, that are within a reasonably close distance to Broadmoor Hills. The Dallas Korean United Methodist Church is located in this neighborhood. The neighborhood is surrounded by many restaurants that offer everything from fast food at places such as Sonic or Burger King to more eclectic international cuisine such as Pad Thai, Taste Asian Noodle & Wok and Temptation Indian & Himalayan Restaurant.
Arts lovers will enjoy the Kimbell Art Museum in nearby Fort Worth. The museum was designed by noted architect Louis Kahn and features a globally recognized collection that includes the works of such greats as Fra Angelico, Caravaggio, Cézanne, Matisse and the art and artifacts of ancient Egypt, Asia, Greece, Mesopotamia, Rome and more.
Wine lovers will be thrilled with the opportunity to taste some outstanding North Texas wine at Khatter Vineyards, a family run winery on a cul-de-sac a short distance from downtown Dallas in Allen, Texas. Getting there is easy by taking U.S. 75 Central Expressway to the Parker Road exit.
The vineyard grows Cabernet and Ruby Cabernet grapes in a shaded area near a creek that runs through their backyard. The Sweet Ruby Cabernet won the Silver Medal at the 2010 Lone Star International competition.
