Restwood is a neighborhood in Bryan, Texas and is located near the Texas A&M University campus. Texas A&M was founded in 1876 and was the state’s first university. It is currently one of the area’s largest employers.
The residents of Restwood can cheer on the Texas A&M Aggies in men and women’s basketball, football, soccer, tennis, and many other athletic events. Thanks to a generally warm climate, residents and visitors are also able to enjoy several nearby parks and outdoor activities throughout the year. Williamson Park is north of the community and features a skateboard park, two picnic pavilions with barbecue grills, a basketball court, and a large playground. Bryan Aquatic Center provides the community with a 175-foot waterslide, an Olympic-size pool, a bathhouse, and a wading pool. The pools are heated for year-round swimming.
Restwood is within the zip code of 77801 and is bordered by S Texas Avenue on the east, S College Avenue on the west, Dellwood Street on the north, and Sulphur Spring Road on the south. Condominiums, townhouses, and apartment complexes are in close proximity to the community. Easterwood Airport, which is located to the south, provides commercial airline service from Bryan to other parts of the country.
The neighborhood offers several family- and kid-friendly activities. The Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley offers tips on healthy eating and teaches kids and families first hand how to plant and maintain a vegetable garden. The museum also hosts an annual Daddy-Daughter Dance, along with several seasonal events.
