Highland Terrace is located in a very historic city which played a significant role in a cattle trail known as the Chisholm Trail. Old Settlers Park is a part of the Highland Terrace community and provides the community with recreational activities. The park has youth and amateur sporting leagues. In its 570 acres, residents can enjoy disc golf, cricket, a twenty-field baseball complex, a five-field softball complex, soccer facilities, two pavilions, a picnic area, a playground, a tennis complex, two sand volleyball courts, and approximately three miles of paved trails. The park is green with many trees and fishing can be enjoyed at Bright Lake.
Rock’n River Family Aquatic Center is also a part of Old Settlers Park. The aquatic center provides the community with many exciting water activities including crazy slides, water playgrounds, tunnel showers, water cannons, tipping frogs, and floor geysers. Zero beach play area begins the fun.
The children of Highland Terrace may attend Forest Creek Elementary School, Ridgeview Middle School, and Cedar Ridge High School. Austin Community College Round Rock Campus is also available.
Sports fans enjoy the “Sports Capital of Texas” by watching the minor league baseball team, The Round Rock Express. The team is dedicated to providing affordable, family friendly baseball. The school district hosts a three-day soft ball tournament each year in Old Settlers Park.
The headquarters of Dell Computers is in Round Rock and may be a source of employment.
If the residents would like to enjoy the attractions of a large city, they can easily travel to Austin, Texas which is less than thirty minutes away.
