Southwest Arlington Neighborhood

The community of Southwest Arlington is located about 40 minutes southwest of Dallas, Texas. The proximity of the community to I-20 and I-820 make for easy commuting to the surrounding areas of Dallas and Fort Worth.

This educated, white-collar, family-friendly neighborhood has large homes on tree-lined streets. Home values here are above average for the area, at around $160K. Most homes were built in the 1980s, with a few dating back to the 1950s, as well as some newer two-story homes built in the 1990s and 2000s.

Some of the highest rated schools in the area, according to the Great Schools Rating include: Charlotte Anderson Elementary School, Corey Elementary School, Boles Junior High School and Kennedale Junior High School. The University of Texas Arlington is located just north of the community. This University has over 33,000 students and offers nearly 190 bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees.

Arlington Municipal Airport, located here, is a full service general aviation airport owned by the city of Arlington.

For the golf enthusiast, Tierra Verde Golf Club, a municipal course, offers a pristine golf setting, state-of-the-art golf learning center, lighted driving range, three-hole practice course, a large chipping and putting complex, as well as a full service restaurant.
