Sutherland Heights residents have quick access to the major arterial of Briley Parkway linked to McGavock Pike. Briley Parkway forms a big circle connecting to Interstate 40, Interstate 65, and Interstate 24 with links to Interstate 440.
Families in the neighborhood of Sutherland Heights are served by Davidson County’s Metropolitan Nashville Public School system. Sutherland Heights is part of the MaGavock Cluster for school zones. Elementary students go to Pennington, middle schoolers to Two Rivers Middle School and secondary students attend McGavock High School. They can apply for admission to one of the magnet academy schools where students are assigned through a lottery system.
One of Nashville’s renowned golf courses, Gaylord Springs, is located to the north of Sutherland Heights. Anchored with a large antebellum-style clubhouse, Gaylord Springs Golf Links was designed by a former champion of the Professional Golf Association. Larry Nelson was also a winner of the U.S. Open. The stunning views are complemented by a challenging course, fine dining and conference rooms. The 220 acre Gaylord Springs Golf Links opened for public use in 1990.
Within a short drive of the Sutherland Heights neighborhood, Two Rivers Park and the water park, Wave County, are popular recreation venues.
