Park rangers give tours of the park, which was designed to augment the architecture of the Capitol building. There are geyser fountains that erupt periodically – each representing one of Tennessee’s rivers. The walls that surround the park have the state’s historical timeline etched into them. The Tennessee State Capitol was built during a 14-year time period from 1845 to 1859, and is considered a National Historic Landmark.
