Hunter’s Run is a neighborhood in Antioch, a residential suburb of Nashville. The community is surrounded by trees native to the area. There are oak, maple, and dogwood trees, which provide a sense of seclusion.
Hunter’s Run is ideally located near shopping and other essentials. To the north is the Nashville International Airport, and to the south is Hickory Hollow Shopping Center. The shopping center features stores like Body Works, Famous Footwear, Journey’s, Macy’s, and Sears. There are also numerous dining options within the shopping center.
Nearby parks include Ezell Road Park, which features several ball and soccer fields. Hamilton Creek Metropolitan Park is a short commute from the Hunter’s Run neighborhood and features the only mountain biking path within Davidson County. There are the Lakeside Trail and the Pinnacle Trail, each offering a different level of challenge. Hamilton Creek Sailboat Marina is located within the park and opened in 1980. It is on J. Percy Priest Lake and is home to the Vanderbilt Rowing Club, the Nashville Rowing Club, and the Percy Priest Yacht Club.
The lake itself is 14,200 acres in size and offers 440 miles of shoreline and is home to a variety of fish, among them largemouth and smallmouth bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, white bass, and stripers. Along its shore is the Smith Springs Public Use Area, which is a popular wildlife watching area and picnic spot.
Also located lakeside is the Anderson Road Recreation Area. It offers a large sandy beach and an expanse of clear water in which to swim. There are picnic tables, a large playground, and plenty of space roam.
