The residential community of Hunter’s Point in Hermitage, Tennessee is one of several communities existing along New Hope Road between Interstate 40 and John Hager Road. It is bound by New Hope Road to the west, the community of Hampton Hall to the north, Hunter’s Point Lane to the east, the community of Baypointe to the southwest, and woodlands to the southeast.
The community contains the following streets: Hunter Point Lane, Dove Trail, and Hunter Point Court. Hunter Point Lane starts at New Hope Road and curves to the south just east of Dove Trail and Baypointe’s Lampe Court.
Like many of the communities in this region, there are no retail, commercial centers, or schools within the neighborhood. However, the community is not far from an elementary school and a major university.
The University of Memphis has a satellite campus located west of Hunter’s Point. The campus is off of Interstate 40 and Old Hickory Boulevard, and it can be reached from the community by traveling north onto New Hope Road to the freeway. New Hope Road also can be used to get to Ruby Major Elementary School. One must travel south on the road to John Hager Road, and then turn east into the campus.
The Old Hickory Boulevard off-ramp for Interstate 40 is the closest retail center to the community. Several nationally known restaurants and retail stores can be found in this region, which is north of the University of Memphis.
Another attraction of Hunter’s Point is its proximity to J. Percy Priest Reservoir. This man-made lake is to the south of the community, and it has several marinas, boat launch areas, parks, and a water theme park on its shores.
