Northeast of downtown Nashville, Tennessee and just to the west of Mount Juliet in the suburb of Hermitage is the neighborhood of Greer Meadows.
Greer Meadows consists of contemporary one- and two-story homes. The homes are built close together and close to the road. The main access road to the neighborhood is Tulip Grove Road. Not far away is Highway 24, which wraps around Greer Meadows to the north and west. The east-west running Interstate 40 lies to the south.
Hermitage gets its name from the plantation home of President Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States. Known as the Hermitage, the plantation mansion and grounds are now a museum with tours available to the public.
Schools serving the Greer Meadows area include Dodson Elementary School, Tulip Grove Elementary School, and Dupont-Tyler Middle School.
Since 1995, the Famous Dave’s Legendary Pit Bar-B-Que franchise has won numerous awards from food critics such as Nashville Scene Readers and Food Network. Other nearby restaurants include Hermitage Steak House and Whitt’s Barbecue.
Nearby Mount Juliet is the home of an open air shopping district known as Providence Market Place. Stores include JCPenney, Target, Best Buy, and PetSmart. A 14-screen multiplex cinema is also part of the district. Mount Juliet also has three public parks, including Mount Juliet City Park, which has a “bark park” for visitors with dogs.
