Located 15 miles north of Nashville, Goodlettsville Heights is a safe, established neighborhood in a picturesque setting. Local residents spend less time in traffic and less money on quality housing without sacrificing the amenities of the city.
Neighborhood commuters average less than 30 minutes driving to jobs in the Nashville area. In stark contrast to outlying areas to the south, west, and east of Nashville, communities north of the metro experience less congestion on the roads. From Goodlettsville, residents exit the neighborhood on Alta Loma Road and take Dry Creek Road to access Interstate 65, on which they drive southbound to the city. Conveniently close to the freeway, the neighborhood is tucked deep enough into a greenway to filter roadway traffic.
The city of Goodlettsville chose not to incorporate with the city of Nashville and established its own city government. The small city neighborhoods enjoy excellent municipal services with all the extra perks of a progressive community. Neighborhood parks, pools, and recreational facilities are well-kept, and public services are efficient.
Considering the rich history of the town, it’s no surprise that community pride shows through in local functions and well-maintained properties. The town includes many historic sites, such as the Bowen Plantation House, which is on the National Register of Historic Homes. Active in the Revolutionary War, Captain William Bowen moved his wife and children to the frontier, eventually acquiring over 4,000 acres for the plantation. Despite harsh conditions, the new settlement experienced much success and is still available for visitors to view today.
