The community is bound by a winding creek to the west and north, a railroad to the south, and Tulip Grove Road to the east. Although the train tracks go by the community, the closest station, Music City Star Station-Hermitage, is further south where Chandler Road and Andrew Jackson Parkway merge.
Nearby schools include Dodson Elementary School, which is near the community of Saddlebrook. Chandler Road, just south of the tracks, is another important road near Brookside Woods. This particular road intersects Tulip Grove Road and connects the community with Hermitage’s downtown to the southwest, as well with other communities in or near Mount Juliet to the east.
