Oak Forest Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Memphis is known for its music. So, it comes to no surprise that one of the businesses located in the residential community of Oak Forest is dedicated to this form of art. The company Memphis4music.com is a service that supplies disk jockeys for weddings, proms, and school dances throughout greater Memphis.
The triangle-shaped community is bound by St. Elmo Road to the north, Memphis-Arlington Road to the south, and Oak Forest Drive to the west. The intersection of St. Elmo and Memphis-Arlington Road creates its eastern border.
The “tip” of the eastern border contains the shopping centers. The biggest store is Walmart Neighborhood Market. A strip mall with stores such as Flash Market and Southern Magnolia Flowers can be found across the street on Memphis-Arlington Road.
Another landmark is the Calvary Baptist Church. It is on the corner of Memphis-Arlington and Oak Forest Drive. While the church itself is small, the property takes up nearly a third of the neighborhood. Much of it is an open, tree-lined field behind the church.
To the north in the community of Oak Forest Hill is Quail Ridge Golf Course, a semi-private 18-hole golf course designed for professional and amateur tournaments. The surrounding communities have numerous ponds, open fields, wooded areas, oak forests, and Spring Lake to the west. There are plenty of churches nearby, including Bartlett Northside Church and Crystal Springs Baptist Church.
