Hunters Hollow South is a medium-sized, tree-lined community of Memphis, Tennessee. It’s bordered to the north by Cordova Road, and to the south by Macon Road. North Germantown Parkway serves as its eastern border, while Deer Hollow Drive serves as its western border.
The neighborhood is within walking distance to the northeast of Shelby Farms Park Conservancy. This is considered one of the country’s best urban parks by many visitors, and the 4,500-acre park features dozens of multiple-use trails, over 20 bodies of water, a playground for kids, a dog park, a field for flying model airplanes, a field for flying kites, equestrian facilities, wildlife viewing opportunities (including the American Bison), a theater, boating opportunities, and the Lucius Burch Natural Area.
Hunters Hollow South is a popular place to live for families. It’s near a wide variety of educational attractions and well-reviewed schools. Children can attend Chimneyrock Elementary School, Cordova Elementary School, Lamplighter Montessori School, Shady Oaks School, or First Assembly Christian School. Older students can attend Dexter Middle School, Cordova Middle School, Saint Francis of Assissi School, Saint Benedict at Auburndale, or Germantown High School.
It’s also a convenient place to live, being close to many of the landmarks and special museums that attract visitors to Memphis from all over the world. The Dixon Gallery & Garden Museum, which features one of the finest collections of French and American Impressionist paintings in the country, is only about ten minutes to the southwest. The Pink Palace Mansion & Museum, P.T. Boats Museum, Children’s Museum of Memphis, Davies Manor Plantation, National Civil Rights Museum, and Licterman Nature Center are well within a 30-minute drive.
