Spartanburg, SC Apartments for Rent

Spartanburg, South Carolina has the motto, “Always Doing.” This city is definitely on the move – it is the largest city in Spartanburg County, as well as the county seat. More than 37,000 call Spartanburg home – many of those being students. Whether you are searching for Spartanburg apartments because you are planning to move for work, school, or just to enjoy this fast-paced Southern city, you’ll find plenty to see and do here.

The very definition of “college town,” Spartanburg is home to eight colleges and universities, including Wofford College, the University of South Carolina Upstate, Converse College, and Spartanburg Community College. Wofford College was founded in 1854 and is considered one of the best liberal arts colleges in the nation. Converse College, a women’s liberal arts college, was established in 1889.

USC Upstate is the fastest-growing university in the state. This public university was established in 1967 and is home to more than 5,500 students. The university has four colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Education, the College of Business Administration and Economics, and the School of Nursing. The USC Upstate Spartans participate in NCAA Division I as part of the Atlantic Sun Conference. Sports teams include basketball, soccer, tennis, and baseball.

But Spartanburg is more than a college town. If you are moving to a Spartanburg apartment for work or other reasons, you’ll find an active, beautiful city with plenty to offer. The Hub City Farmers’ Market is held at the historic Magnolia Street Train Station. You can also visit the Spartanburg Museum of Art, the Spartanburg Science Center, and Cowpens National Battlefield – where a major Revolutionary War took place in January 1781.

Get out and enjoy the beautiful weather at a variety of festivals in Spartanburg, including the Annual Sidewalk Arts Show, the International Festival, Retrofest, Music on Main, Festifall, and Taste of the Backcountry, which is held at the 18th-century Price House.

Spartanburg provides a variety of parks, nature trails, and bike trails to enjoy. Be sure to check out the Croft Natural Area Mountain Bike Trail, the Glendale Greenway of the Palmetto Trail, the Duncan Park Trail, and the Cottonwood Trail once you’ve found your Spartanburg apartment. Croft State Park has over 17 miles of hiking and biking trails as well as camping, fishing, boating, horseback riding, playgrounds, and picnic areas.
