Planters Walk is a subsection of Crowfield Plantation in Goose Creek. It is located in the southern part of Goose Creek and is closest to North Charleston. One of the smaller parts of Crowfield Plantation, its boundaries are Westview Boulevard on the north and west, Crowfield Boulevard to the east and Hunters Lane to the South.
This subsection of Crowfield Plantation is made up of a mixture of single-family detached and attached residences. The single-family attached residences are two story townhouses. All of these structures range in size from roughly 1,200 square feet to 2,100 square feet. Most of these homes were built in the 1980s, and a few have been recently remodeled.
The area is filled with an abundance of mature trees and lovely landscaping. This is an area of the United States that is known throughout the world for its many spectacularly beautiful gardens.
Because of its close proximity to North Charleston and some of the medical facilities in the area, it is especially convenient for people who work at these places. Health South Rehabilitation of Charleston is a 46-bed post acute care hospital that opened in 1994. The hospital offers both inpatient and outpatient care.
It is a hospital that specializes in providing physical rehabilitation for people who suffer from a range of physically debilitating problems such as stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, hip fractures, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Trident Medical Center is a 296 bed tertiary care hospital that has been providing care to the Lowcountry area since 1975. It offers a full range of preventative and wellness care as well as more specialized care for women and cancer patients.
Charleston Southern University is also just south of Planters Walk. This private independent Baptist College, which is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention was founded in 1964. A maximum of 3,200 students are attending the university during any given semester.
