The Foxborough subdivision of Charleston is located between St. James Avenue, Old Mt. Holly Road and Old Moncks Corner Road. The community lies just north of the Berkeley Square Shopping Center. Homes in Foxborough are a mix of single family attached and detached structures. Single-family detached dwellings are predominately one-story ranch houses that range in size from 1300 to under 2,000 square feet. Most were built in the 1970s and early 1980s. The single-family attached homes are two story townhouses that average 1,300 square feet, also built in the 70s and 80s.
Foxborough is a short distance from Charleston Southern University, one of the largest independent universities in the state. Charleston Southern University distinguishes itself because of its affiliation with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. It has earned a distinction as one of the best buys among colleges and universities in the United States. In addition to its exhaustive undergraduate offerings, it also has graduate programs in Criminal Justice, Education, Nursing and Business. Foxborough is just minutes away from the university.
Residents of Foxborough and Goose Creek in general can take advantage of the amenities at the Casey Community Center (formerly known as the Goose Creek Recreation Center.) The center has a fitness center with a cardio deck, walking track and climbing wall. It also boasts two full size gymnasiums. Residents can also participate in aerobics classes at the center. Eubanks Park is located just behind the Community Center. It has a covered picnic area, grills, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts and tennis courts.
