The Foster Creek and Goose Creek neighborhoods are in the Greater Charleston area. Located north of North Charleston, Foster Creek and Goose Creek have distinctive north and south borders but blend together where they meet at Goose Creek and the Naval Weapons Station, Many consider them the same neighborhood. Foster Creek/Goose Creek encompasses all the Goose Creek Reservoir and includes land along Goose Creek, which is a deep river.
Originally, many of the homes were built as housing for the Navy for those service members and workers at the Naval Weapons Station. Over the years, it has been built up, with many executive-style homes. Homes on the river or reservoir come at a premium but have boat docks, are larger than average, and feature more than three bedrooms. Most of the homes were built after the 1970s and are well kept and desirable in the Greater Charleston Area. There are several newer apartments and town homes available for rent in the area as well.
Going on family walks is expected of the families in Foster Creek/Goose Creek because of the neighborhood’s wonderful natural beauty. It has wide streets and lovely homes and is a part of the Southern family tradition of getting to know your neighbors. The Goose Creek Reservoir offers fishing, swimming, and boating and is a home and nesting ground for birds and other native wildlife.
