There are several festivals in Midlothian, including a Spring Fling Arts & Crafts Festival, a Fall Festival, and the Summer Balloon Classic, a competition with 40 hot-air balloons.

Midlothian’s parks are situated on 117 acres of land throughout the city. Kimmel Park features a gazebo, playground, and picnic areas. Heritage Park is situated around Larkin Newton Log Cabin, built in 1848.
