Weigelstown is a small town located to the south of Harrisburg and west of York in Pennsylvania. This quiet area has many different types of homes representing a wide group of residents’ tastes in housing. The town itself is somewhat peaceful with relatively light traffic, in comparison to the bigger cities located within about five miles of the town.
One of the biggest draws to Weigelstown is Grand View Golf Course off Carlisle Road. This popular course draws many golfers on a daily basis from a number of backgrounds and with different skill levels. The course is well maintained providing a high-quality playing surface. There is also a clubhouse staffed with golf professionals who are able to help with any questions that golfers may have about the course or the game of golf in general.
Carlisle Road is also where the majority of shopping venues can be found. While there are many different local establishments, major national brands can also be found throughout the area. There are several shopping markets, pharmacies, and shops offering mostly day-to-day goods and services. The area also has a large number of restaurants representing many different types of food, including Pennsylvania Dutch offerings indigenous to the region.
Just before Donwood Drive on Carlisle Road is Pirate’s Putting Cove. This small miniature golf course provides a great deal of entertainment for visitors and residents. The course provides challenges that are fun without being frustrating. Next to the golf course is Bill Mack’s Ice Cream, which is a popular destination after a game of golf (or at any time!) to get some ice cream.
For recreation outside of golfing, Dover Community Park off of State Route 4002 provides a number of options for residents of all ages. There are many baseball fields, multiple purpose fields, basketball courts, and tennis courts that get regular use throughout the year.
