Comfortably nestled in East Portland and surrounded by the suburban and urban neighborhoods of Hazelwood, Wilkes, and Centennial, Glenfair is a great Portland neighborhood and close to schools, shopping, restaurants, and public transportation. Hikers in Rocky Butte State Park have a 360-degree view of East and Downtown Portland, Mount Hood, and surrounding areas.
The Powell Butte Nature Park has miles of trails shared by hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. Wildlife in the park includes rabbits, gray foxes, coyotes, and black-tailed mule deer. Birders and nature lovers will find the park’s open meadows, groves, and wetlands as an attraction for birds of prey.
In Portland, the family-friendly Oaks Amusement Park is an amusement park located along the historic Willamette River waterfront. The amusement park has a carnival, thrill and children’s rides, plus a roller rink with a Wurlitzer organ.
The Lan Su Chinese Garden is designed in the 15th century Ming style. The urban garden was built by artisans from Suzhou, China, Portland’s sister city. Visitors can walk the stone paths which wind through courtyards and pavilions. The landscaping includes trees and shrubs indigenous to China. Freestanding rocks around the waterfall were mined from a lake near Suzhou. A teahouse overlooks Lake Zither in the garden. Guided tours are available.
