Tastefully wedged between Lakewood Bay and the Willamette River, the Foothills neighborhood is luxury living on the historic, private Lake Oswego. The property in the neighborhood is distinctly high end, with rental choices including houses, condominiums, and apartments. The neighborhood is pedestrian-friendly and close to schools and shopping.
Residents and visitors may travel around the lake and surrounding areas by car, or on Portland’s Tri-Met public transportation system. The neighborhood is minutes from the Portland International Airport and the historic Amtrak Union Station.
The neighborhood is close to Foothill Park and the Millennium Plaza City Park. Foothill Park is the newest riverfront park in Lake Oswego. The park gives residents and visitors spectacular views of the Willamette River, and amenities include paths, a pond, and a grass amphitheater for summer concerts. The Millennium Plaza Park plays a part in the cultural events of the city. It is scheduled to host its first annual Art Market in 2011. The festive event, which showcases local artists, will feature live music and an outdoor happy hour.
The Lake Oswego Indoor Tennis Center is located in Springbrook Park. The center offers four public indoor courts, open throughout the year. Although a variety of activities are available, adult tennis, youth tennis, Special Olympics training, and Tiny Tot Tennis are most popular with the active lake community.
The Lakeshore Inn has the distinction of being the only hotel in downtown Lake Oswego that overlooks the lake. By automobile or public transportation, the inn is minutes from the attractions and tourist destinations of Portland, and visitors have an ideal location to stay for business or pleasure.
