The Columbus neighborhood is situated in far southern Tulsa, Oklahoma, just east of U.S. Highway 169 and south of Interstate 44/State Highway 66. Interstate 244 and U.S. Highway 412 run past the community within two miles to the north, providing a nearly direct route into downtown Tulsa, which is roughly a 17-minute drive to the west.

This community is bounded by East 21st Street on the north, Highway 169 on the west, East 31st Street on the south, and South Garnett Road on the east. Columbus is part of Tulsa County, in the 74129 zip code area. Neighboring communities include Longview Lake and Audubon to the west, and Meadows and Tamarac to the east.

This community is mostly residential, made up of single-family homes, but some commercial offerings can be found throughout, especially along the neighborhood’s boundaries. The Cherokee Shopping Center is situated just outside of the community on the north, providing a convenient option for shopping and entertainment. Several additional shopping centers can be found within a short drive of Columbus as well.

For outdoor recreation, residents of Columbus aren’t far from Skelly Park, Briarwood Park, and Bowman Park, all community parks situated to the southwest on the other side of Highway 169. Bowman Park is traversed by Mingo Trail, which is popular for biking, jogging, and dog walking. It also offers a baseball/softball diamond, six tennis courts, and open space for games and picnicking.

Additional amenities within five miles north of the Columbus neighborhood include the Tulsa International Airport, Lake Yahola, Mohawk Park and golf course, and the Redbud Valley Nature Preserve. For more to see and do, residents make the short trip into downtown Tulsa, which offers a long list of cultural attractions, entertainment, and higher education options.
