Central Park is a Tulsa, Oklahoma, neighborhood situated along the east side of the Cherokee Expressway. East 4th Place, South Utica Avenue, and South 11th Street form its other boundaries.

A main attraction in this neighborhood is Centennial Park. This 11-acre green space is well manicured, and has a pond, waterfall, creek, and a paved walking trail, providing a pleasant place from which to admire the Tulsa skyline. A playground and spray pool give children a place to have some fun. Another point of interest is a time capsule, scheduled to be opened in 2048.

The park’s 12,500-square-foot Central Center features an auditorium, fitness center, visual-arts room, commercial kitchen, and meeting rooms. Classes and activities are regularly offered here for locals to enjoy. It is rented out for special occasions. Centennial Park is also home to the Central Senior Center, which offers activities for older residents.

A short way south of the park is Oaklawn Cemetery, which occupies 20 acres of Central Park. At more than 100 years old, and with no money left to be made from the sale of plots, the cost of upkeep for this and one other cemetery has raised some budgetary concerns for the city of Tulsa, as of 2011. Locals hope that a public-private or nonprofit partnership will come into play to keep this cemetery, and the history it contains, in a dignified condition. Volunteers have been helping with upkeep in the meantime.

Central Park offers a variety of housing options and a decent mix of businesses. At about a mile from the downtown area, this convenient location with its pleasant view of the city attracts people from all walks of life.
