Braniff Hills Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Braniff Hills is an affluent residential neighborhood of Tulsa with well-maintained homes on wide, tree-lined streets and expansive, modern apartment buildings with landscaped grounds. Residents get to live in a neighborhood with a small-town feel, but have the convenience of being close to the attractions and tourist destinations of Tulsa, and a quick exit from town via major freeways. It is known as a family area, and is pedestrian friendly. It is in walking distance to the private and public schools in the Jenks School District, the campus of Oral Roberts University, the River Parks recreation area along the Arkansas River, and two shopping centers. The privately owned Harvey Young Airport, seven miles east of Tulsa, specializes in charter jets.
The neighborhood is close to the Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness, which overlooks the west bank of the Arkansas River. Residents and visitors have access to four named wilderness trails and a dozen unnamed trails. It offers a wilderness experience for hikers, bikers, dog walkers, and equestrians without the hassle of leaving Tulsa.
Braniff Hills is close to the Tulsa Garden Center in historic Woodward Park. The charm, elegance, and craftsmanship of the original 1921 Italianate-style villa still remain. The 13-acre estate was sold to the city in 1954. It hosts 30 organizations that offer horticultural and environmental activities. Its 5,000-volume horticultural library is considered one of the best in the region, and is used by students and gardeners. Since 1954, over a million people from the United States and around the world have visited the center.
The nearby 84-acre Tulsa Zoo and Living Museum provides education and entertainment for the entire family. Over 2,800 animals are on exhibit, including rare and exotic species from all over the planet. Education classes are held at Helmerich Discovery Center.
