Larsh/Miller is a neighborhood in central Norman, Oklahoma. The area is located between the University of Oklahoma and downtown Norman, northwest of Boyd Street and Classen Boulevard. This neighborhood includes two notable historical districts: the Miller District and Campus Corner. The Miller Historic District consists of residential buildings built between 1910 and 1938, especially in the Crafstman and Bungalow styles. Campus Corner is a revitalized commercial center with several blocks of bars, clubs, restaurants, and locally owned businesses.
The most attractive feature of Larsh/Miller is the variety of residential options to choose from and the walkability of the neighborhood. Larsh/Miller has large historical apartment buildings, newer apartment complexes of varying sizes, single-family homes, and duplexes. Since it is adjacent to the university, there are many rental properties available, and the crowd is very young. The low prices in the neighborhood draw creative people and artists, so there are some art workshops and collaborative spaces in this part of the city.
The walkability of the neighborhood is excellent. With all of the shopping and entertainment in Campus Corner, a high density of residential buildings, sidewalks, and quiet streets, as well as proximity to downtown and the university campus, it is easy to go for days without grabbing the car keys. Many of Norman’s oldest churches are also found in the Larsh/Miller area.
For destinations outside of walking distance, Larsh/Miller residents have good access to Norman’s Cleveland Area Rapid Transit system, or CART. This bus system has routes that go all across town, making suburban shopping centers available without driving a car. Routes 10, 21, and 52 all pass through Larsh/Miller, and the central hub for all routes is just half a mile away on the South Oval at the University of Oklahoma.
This unique historical area is perfectly located for residents to live in a traditional, walkable neighborhood with easy access to all of the culture and events the University of Oklahoma has to offer, as well as the nightlife and shopping of Campus Corner and downtown Norman.
