Airpark refers to the vicinity of the former Downtown Airpark in Central Oklahoma City, on the south side of the Oklahoma River around Western Avenue and Commerce Street. This area is made up of mostly single-family and apartment homes. Mount Saint Mary Catholic School is a major anchor for the Airpark area.

To the east lies the historic Capitol Hill Main Street along Commerce, which is in a period of revival like many inner city areas of the city. It can be easy to walk to the commercial district from around the Airpark for dinner and entertainment. Rotary Park has some baseball diamonds and tennis courts to stay active. Wiley Post Park, along the Oklahoma River, has many great amenities including walking trails that connect to the 7-mile route along the river bank, pavilions, and a high quality skate park designed by BMX bike superstar Matt Hoffman for extreme sports athletes. The Western Avenue Bridge leads to northside amenities like the large Wheeler Park and greater Downtown Oklahoma City.

Several other anchor points area also nearby. Stockyards City is a western-themed historic retail center and major cattle market a few blocks to the northwest. Integris Southwest Hospital is just south of the Airpark along Western Avenue.

The future of Airpark is looking bright, with plans for a major mixed-use development on the 80-acre site of the old airpark. Dubbed “The Waterfront,” the development will feature high-rise buildings with hotels, apartments, shopping, and offices. The centerpiece of the development will be a waterfront park that will include the famous giant Ferris wheel from the Santa Monica Pier, which the developer purchased on eBay to relocate to the Airpark. As this huge development unfolds, Airpark will undoubtedly change greatly over the next decade.
