Carverdale is a medium-sized community in Oklahoma City. It’s in the 73117 zip code. Northeast 16th Street serves as the northern border of the neighborhood, while Northeast 10th Street serves as its southern border. North Eastern Avenue is its western border and Interstate 35 is its eastern border.
The community’s proximity to Interstate 35 allows guests to easily access all of the cultural and historical attractions that Oklahoma City has to offers. They don’t have to go far for many of the most famous landmarks of the city though.
Oklahoma Railway Museum, which showcases the vast history of trains in the state, is a mile and a half north of Carverdale. The Oklahoma History Center is two miles to its northwest. The 45th Infantry Division Museum, Ham Homestead (a historical museum), and the Oklahoma Museum of History are within a two-mile radius. The Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum, which pays tribute to those lost in the tragedy that made the city infamous, is just under three miles to its west.
Carverdale is an ideal community for outdoors lovers. It borders Edward Park, which boasts a picturesque lake, a pier and open parkland. Douglas Park and Riley Leroy Pitts Park are also within walking distance. Joggers and dog walkers can often be seen strolling through the tree-lined streets of the neighborhood as well.
Many of the wealthier residents are members of the Twin Hills Golf and Country Club. It’s only two miles north of Carverdale. In addition to its sprawling golf courses, grounds and greens, it offers a luxurious clubhouse, pro shop, aquatic center and on-site dining.
