Summit View Forest is a neighborhood of level terrain and large lots. Spacious suburban homes, either two-story of large ranch style, fill the neighborhood, which is bound by Summit View Road and Simfield Road, just west of Smoky Row Road in the 42016 zip code.
Hickory Woods Parkland sits in the southwest corner of the neighborhood. Northwest Library, located on Hard Road, lies within walking distance near Olde Sawmill Park.
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, named one of the top zoos in the nation, is located on the eastern side of O’Shaughnessy Reservoir, just north of Summit View Forest. Jack Hanna, better known for his show “Into the Wild,” was the zoo’s director for many years.
Also part of the zoo complex is Safari Golf, a fine public course. The Zoombezi Bay water park, also located at the complex, covers 22 acres and offers 15 great water slides.
O’Shaughnessy Reservoir is an important recreational area, offering fishing and boating. The dam at O’Shaughnessy is on the National Register of Historic Places.
For longer getaways, Delaware State Park lies aout a half-hour’s drive from Summit View Forest. The park offers camping, boating, fishing, disc golfing, hiking, waterfowl hunting, and swimming. Winter activities include cross-country skiing, sledding, and ice fishing.
The Shoppes at River Ridge offer upscale shopping with national names such as JoS. A. Bank, Aveda and Coldwater Creek. Following the new trend of pedestrian friendly shopping in an outdoor setting, River Ridge is designed to blend with historic Downtown Dublin.
Historic Dublin in itself is a National Historic District and a great place to shop, dine and explore.
The Mall at Tuttle Creek Crossing is another popular shopping center, featuring retailers like J.C. Penney, Sears, and Macy’s.
