Brandon is a lovely new neighborhood of gracious homes, mostly two-story, on well-manicured lawns. Accessed by Brand Road, it is only minutes from natural areas, family parks, shopping, and restaurants.
Little more than a mile away is Avery Park, with tennis courts, ball diamonds, playgrounds, and picnic shelters. Along Avery Road is one of Dublin’s premier outdoor art installations, the Jack Nicklaus bronze sculpture. Also nearby is Glacier Ridge Metropark. This 1,037-acre park includes 250 acres of restored wetlands and an education center in addition to bridle trails, a pet trail, and a disc golf course.
Several other great parks are nearby, too. Scioto Park is just across the river, offering another great public art display, the Chief Leatherlips monument, which is quite impressive. Coffman Park features ice skating during the winter and pond fishing in warm months.
More than a half dozen golf courses, both public and private, are only a short drive from Brandon. There are larger recreational areas just to the north. O’Shaughnessy Reservoir and Alum Creek State Park both offer fishing and boating, along with other activities.
Most major shopping areas are a short drive south of the Brandon neighborhood. There are a grocery store and a small shopping center at Dublin Plaza. Also close by is a Sam’s Club. The Mall at Tuttle Crossing is the closest comprehensive shopping center, with several national department stores, specialty shops, and a food court. Both fast-food restaurants and enticing local eateries are close to the Brandon community.
The Columbus Metropolitan Library is conveniently located, near Indian Run Falls Park. Columbus State Community College has a campus in Dublin. The Ohio State University is nearby, as are a number of private colleges and universities throughout greater Columbus. With good access to the interstate, all the attractions of downtown Columbus are readily available to Brandon residents.
