Spread over an impressive 667 acres in southeast Houston, the University of Houston’s sprawling campus is home to nearly 40,000 students. UH is a Tier One research university and one of the top 50 research universities in the country. It is a diverse university, both economically and ethnically. Graduate programs include biochemistry, engineering, and physics.
The Houston Cougars football team is part of an expansive sports program at UH. As part of the NCAA Division 1, the cougars have won several championships.

One of the most popular parks, Hermann Park, is located near the UH campus. Hermann Park is a historic park situated on 445 acres. The Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Houston Zoo, and the Hermann Park Golf Course are all located within the park.
