The University of Dayton spans a bend in the Miami River in downtown Dayton. A beautiful campus, it borders several parks, including Carillon Historical Park. The Great Miami River Recreational Trail runs through campus along the river.

UD is a private, Catholic university – one of the largest Catholic schools in the US and the largest private university in Ohio. It offers over 70 academic programs, including human rights – the first university in the country to offer such a degree program. The university was founded in 1850 and the campus includes several historic buildings.

Most of the Dayton Flyers sports teams compete in the Atlantic Ten Conference, except for the football team, which is part of the Pioneer Football League. The basketball team has a large following and tops the NCAA Division I rankings for attendance. The team has participated in many NCAA tournaments, holding a 13-15 NCAA tournament record. The school colors are red and blue. Welcome Stadium has been home to the Dayton Flyers since 1974.

Your apartment in the University of Dayton area will give you fast access to downtown Dayton and its wide variety of businesses, shops, restaurants, and attractions such as the National Museum of the United States Air Force, the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park, the hip, funky and historic Oregon District, and the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center.
