Worcester Polytechnic Institute Area Apartments for Rent(hide college information)
As one of the nation’s limited number of polytechnic universities, Worcester Polytechnic Institute is a private research university that was founded in 1865, making it one of the country’s first engineering and technology universities. WPI offers more than 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the areas of technology, science, engineering, and several other areas. Degree programs include bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD programs.
WPI’s 80-acre campus is beautiful, located on a hill near a charming neighborhood filled with coffee shops, boutiques, bookstores, and more. Students can cheer on the WPI Engineers, who participate in 20 varsity sports as part of NCAA Division III. One of the campus landmarks is a Beech Tree that inspired the school colors, crimson and gray. The tree, which was planted in 1945, is now almost 100 feet tall. Other landmarks include a Tudor-style mansion built in 1923, the Higgins House, and its English garden.
Apartments near Worcester Polytechnic Institute can be found all over Worcester, the second largest city in New England after nearby Boston. WPI is on Boynton Hill in north Worcester. Other nearby neighborhoods include Newton Square, Piedmont, and Bell Hill.
