Brandeis University - Waltham, MA

Brandeis University is located in the suburban city of Waltham just nine miles west of Boston. It is a high-ranking, private, liberal arts, research university. Brandeis University was established in 1948 and was named for Louis Brandeis, the first Jewish Supreme Court Justice. The beautiful campus features the landmark Usen Castle, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building is used for student housing and contains a coffeehouse and late-night snack bar.

Waltham was an early manufacturing city and was part of the American Industrial Revolution, famous for making watches. It is a charming city complete with a Central Square and several villages and neighborhoods. It is located along the Charles River and is considered a college town, with Brandeis University and nearby Bentley University the top employers.

Renting an apartment in the Brandeis University area will place you just outside Boston’s historic sites, pubs, shops, world-famous restaurants, and sports. Enjoy the beauty of the city via walking tours and the Freedom Trail, head toward the coast and the area’s beautiful beaches, catch a baseball game at Fenway Park, and enjoy winter sports such as snowboarding and skiing.
