Bennett Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Bennett neighborhood is on the southern end of Fargo, just west of the Red River. Beyond Township Road on the southern end is open farmland stretching all the way to North Dakota’s southern border. It is because of all this empty space and the proximity of Interstate Highway 29 to the west that Bennett is considered ripe for expansion. The area is quiet, yet modern and sophisticated.
The land was annexed to Fargo in 1995. Development in the area began in the mid 1990s with a mixture of single family homes, apartments, condos, and townhomes. Some homes and apartments that are next to the Red River offer water views. A public access way off of University Drive South leads to the river bank and one of Fargo’s prized fishing spots. About a mile north of Bennett is the Rose Creek Golf Course with links overlooking the Red River. The posh Seasons Restaurant is on the golf course grounds.
Bennett Elementary School on 58th Avenue South has an adjacent play area with baseball diamonds, a soccer field and in winter an ice skating/hockey rink. Shanley High School on 25th Street South is three blocks to the northwest of Bennett. Bright Beginnings Preschool is on 14th Street South, three blocks east. Nearby churches include Shepherd of the Prairie, Sts. Anne & Joachim Catholic Church, and Community of Christ Church.
Other than the Seasons Restaurant at the golf course, restaurants, shops, and services are north of Bennett along University Drive South and 32nd Avenue South. Some of the eclectic offerings include Boppa’s Bagels, Cold Stone Creamery, and Moe’s Southwest Grill. Interstate 29 leads to the West Acres Shopping Center, about four miles north of Bennett. Big name brands such as Macy’s and Sears share space with a 14 screen movie theatre and food court.
