Widewaters, perhaps named in part for it’s proximity to several lakes in the Knightdale area, is a rectangular neighborhood sitting to the northwest of the urban center of the city. Widewaters is good for those looking for outdoor entertainment options as well as commercial options with available routes to nearby cities.

There are almost a dozen lakes and parks near Widewaters. The Wil-Mar Golf Club is to the north, next to Beaverdale Lake and Neuseoco Lake, making it easy for amateur and advanced golfers to practice or play. Nearby Lowes Foods offers daily necessities and groceries for residents and visitors. Across the street, the Shoppes at Midway Plantation is home to Target, Home Depot, and Best Buy. Several restaurants including Quizno’s Subs and El Senor can also be found in the area.

The southern part of Laurens Way marks the southern border of Widewaters which sits in the 27545 zip code. Delta River Way extends to the north making up the western boundary while Stern Wheel Way denotes the eastern border, running parallel to the west. The northern boundary line is a sloping curve that follows Wide Waters Way from Village Park Drive and continues through Twain Town Drive.

Though Widewaters isn’t close to many schools, there are several childcare centers and extracurricular activity locations for students of all ages. The Filmore Academy and Knightdale KinderCare focus on early childhood education and daycare for working parents. There are also a handful of martial arts centers to the northeast of Widewaters including Black Belt World and Tiger Ma’s Taekwondo.
