Weston Trace neighborhood can be found directly off of Weston Road. The area is secluded by forests making for scenic views and quiet streets. The bike lane on West Garner Road provides easy access to shopping and business.
South of Downtown Raleigh and only a twenty-minute drive, residents will find Interstate 40 offers quick passage to attractions near Raleigh as well as Cary and Durham.
The Avery Street Recreation Center located at 125 Avery Street offers residents with a gymnasium, a game room and meeting rooms that accommodate up to twenty people. The center also runs a preschool on the premises and runs programs for adults and children and outside is a playground.
A favorite place to visit on weekends is the Peddler’s Village. The village has seventy specialty shops and six restaurants. Eleven annual events and festivals take place at Peddler’s Village such as the Apple Festival and Fine Art and Contemporary Craft Show. The Giggleberry Room is available for children’s birthday parties and wedding packages are offered. Peddler’s Village is located at 566 Village Court Street off Highway 70.
Lake Benson Park offers boating, fishing, and water sports. Visitors can hike, camp, and picnic. The wide open area in the park is a great place to fly kites or model airplanes. The town of Garner holds its annual Fourth of July Celebration at Lake Benson Park complete with fireworks, food booths, and performances by the North Carolina Symphony. The event is free.
