Weston Oaks is a residential neighborhood of large single family detached homes on small lots with trees behind the homes. The area near the neighborhood is rural with lots of woodsy open spaces. There are sidewalks in the neighborhood.

Lake Crabtree is a Wake County Park just a short drive from Weston Oaks. It is over 700 acres with 500 being the lake and 200 being the surrounding area. The lake is the main attraction of the park and offers fishing and boating. There is a volleyball net near the lake as well as a playground and open play areas. There are picnic shelters and tables throughout the park, some have grills and some don’t. There are miles of trails in the park, some for walkers, some for walkers and joggers and some for walkers, joggers and bikers.

There are many programs offered at the park for groups but also for the public. On the first Wednesday of the month there is a story time for tots. It requires pre-registration and there is a small fee involved.

Park Place Shopping Center is located just a short drive to the south of Weston Oaks. It has a variety of stores and restaurants including a Food Lion grocery store, a Wendy’s, a Stein Mart and Carmike Park Place 16 Cinemas.
