University Neighborhood

The University neighborhood of Raleigh, North Carolina begins at North Carolina State University and Meredith College and extends north to around Anderson Drive. It includes the Bloombury Historic District, Blue Moon Ridge, Bedford Heights, Fallon Oaks, Cameron Village, Five Points, and several other neighborhoods. This region is especially popular with college students, and affordable apartments can be found throughout the area.

NC State University is the proud setting of the Wolfpack College Basketball team and the historical landmark, the Bell Tower. This World War I Memorial pays respect to alumni veterans. Carter-Finley Stadium resides at NCSU and is a major entertaining venue in Raleigh, NC. This handy educational and entertainment center is greatly loved by the community.

Meredith College is an all-female, private university. One of the largest in the southeast, Meredith was founded in 1891 and has been a leader in women’s academics ever since. With breathtaking views, and history unsurpassed, residents enjoy Meredith.

A short drive could lead you to the NC Museum of Art, the Museum of Natural Sciences, or the JC Raulston Arboretum. Each are located within the district. The NC Museum of Art is the owner of a huge collection of American and European art. The Museum of Natural Sciences exhibits many artifacts, but children love the dinosaur displays. The JC Raulston Arboretum is adjacent to Meredith College and is renowned for a wide variety of plant species native to North Carolina and the southeast.

University is also extremely close to the historical district of Five Points and the Mordecai Historical Landmark. Mordecai was the birth place of American President Andrew Johnson.

Convenient to shopping, hospitals, entertainment and interstates, the University neighborhood is enviable for beauty, location, and commuting ease. This area is well-situated to Dixie Trail, Wade Avenue, and the Raleigh Beltline.
