Only one block long and barely half a block wide, the tiny neighborhood of Rose Garden sits just south of the Apex city center. The seven homes are all single family structures. Yards are large and most of the street is lined with trees. One business called Pro Set Basketball Goal is located on Rose Garden’s northern end at James Street and South Hughes Street.
Apex Elementary School is to the southwest on Tingen Road and Apex Middle School is two blocks to the north on East Moore Street. Apex High is about a mile farther north on Laura Duncan Road. Several churches are also within walking distance including the New Horizons Fellowship on East Williams Street, St Mary’s Ame, and Apex First Baptist both on South Salem Street.
The closest shops are along East Williams Street to the north. Some of the offerings include Scott’s Galaxy Foods, First Bank, and Apex Ace Hardware. Following East Williams Street to the south leads to a Family Dollar Store, the Kangaroo Express Market, and the Fidelity Bank. Restaurants along this strip include EM-R Wings, J&S New York Pizza, and Tacos Mexico.
Taking this same street in the opposite direction leads to the Beaver Creek Commons Mall and the adjacent Beaver Creek Crossing Shopping Center. Big name brands such as Target, Lowe’s, and TJ Maxx are available, as is the Regal Cinemas Beaver Creek. Restaurants at the malls include Red Robin, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Chili’s. Both of these shopping outlets are less than two miles away.
