Wake Forest, North Carolina is located approximately eight miles east of Falls Lake and 13 miles northeast of the capital city of Raleigh. Due to its close proximity to the Raleigh-Durham area and popular recreational resources, Wake Forest has become increasingly popular for raising families or simply settling down for retirement.
Ripple Creek is one of Wake Forest’s northern neighborhoods. Situated approximately 1.5 miles north of downtown, Ripple Creek provides serenity with its rural atmosphere, yet it’s still close enough to everything downtown has to offer. This area also contains historic buildings, like the Wake Forest College Birthplace. Just south of the College Birthplace is Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where more dining options are provided near the southeast corner.
Located in the 27587 zip code, Ripple Creek has a handful of schools within a three-mile radius. Wake Forest Elementary and Middle Schools along with Rolesville High School are all situated near downtown. South of downtown are the Heritage public schools.
For recreational activities, many of the area residents utilize Falls Lake and Falls Lake State Recreation Area. The lake provides areas for fishing, boating, and swimming, while the park has sections for camping, hiking, biking, and picnicking. Closer to home, J.B. Flaherty Park is less than a mile southeast of Ripple Creek. This 100-acre park offers athletic fields and courts, picnic shelters, two ponds, and a community center where residents can utilize the game room and the arts and crafts room.
