In the area of Wake Forest, North Carolina, there is a community called Lake Forest. It is located in Wake County. The northeastern border is formed by Anderson Drive, and the eastern border lies just northwest of North Main Street. The remaining boundaries are undefined, but the area incorporates Ralph Drive, Jordan Lane, and Spring Lane. This locale is comprised of a mixture of residential homes, businesses, and commercial properties.
Just to the west of Lake Forest is the Calvin Ray Pond, which is open to the public. Anglers have caught several species of fish here, including sunfish, brook trout and blue catfish. Willow Haven Lake is also nearby. Just east of the community is Alley Young Park. The 15-acre park is quite scenic, featuring several large rocks to climb on, and the park is sheltered by large trees. This park offers a playground, a ball field, basketball courts, and picnic tables. The Wake Forest Recreation Area is 561 acres and features open space, natural areas, and trails. Also available are five baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, soccer fields, a pool, picnic areas, and a dog park. Also in the recreation area is The Wake Forest Community House and the Flahetry Park Community Center. The six miles of greenway trails weave through the park, and the trails are mostly paved and of different lengths, making them usable for everyone.
Wake Forest sits on the edge of the historic Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. The public schools are part of the Wake County School District.
